Nice post, Erik. Rarely do things turn out exactly the way we plan... I guess the trick is hoping things turn out better than expected more often than not.

Interesting that Lucasarts not only led the way with MMOs, they also generated the basics of the engine of their adventure games.

Yoda, like Frost, is wise.

And by the way, this was more self reflection than pity and it really does drive me crazy when I think about all the alternatives, the could be's, the what if's.

I came across this poem (only once before in my life had I read it) and it occurred to me that it is probably underrated.

All his life has he looked away... to the future, to the horizon. Never his mind on where he was. Hmm? What he was doing. Hmph. Adventure. Heh. Excitement. Heh. A Jedi craves not these things.

;)

Fantastic poem by the way.

Right on. I probably have a few hundred PSD's filed away on my server, many of them I've forgetten about after a period of time. Should do that but you know how it goes.

Locally I keep a few folders with design elements (textures, stock photos, partial vectors) to use for projects.

I like sites like Patterntap to leach inspiration from.

Nice man, I think all of us artists gotta set goals like that.. I've been wanting to do basically the same thing, but I figure no matter if its music, writting, art, comics or whatever.. just keep ing the creative juices alive and pumping is whats its about. I can't wait to see what you come up with this year. We need more sketches from you too hehe.

It goes well - can be both mind-numbing and self-gratifying, all at once.

Actually, at the moment I'm also investigating voice over work. We'll see where that takes me as I've always felt I had vocal talent, but never knew if it was good enough, y'know?

The Secret of Nimh is on Cartoon Network today and it reminded me of an artist I met on World of Minecraft that was working with the talented Mr. Bluth.

Glad to hear about your day of epiphany, how goes the animation?
