Egg Sketch

An inked sketch entitled Barbaric Eggs Storming the Enemy Foxhole, inspired by a series of descriptive statements called ‘I am for the art of’ by Claes Oldenburg (1961).

This sketch along with some others are part of a book I created called ‘I am for the Art of Imagination: A Book of Oddly-inspired Illustrations’, and it just so happens to be one of the most off-the-wall projects I’ve worked on all year.

Love it!

The detail on the trees reminds me of how much attention to detail Bill Watterson put in backgrounds.

Your off-the-wall look at art is always a breath of fresh air. Now I really want to see the rest of this book. When is the publish date?:P

Gary & Adam: Thanks guys. Bill Watterson’s Calvin and Hobbes is one of my favorite comics, partly because of the artwork. As simplistic as he made his characters, his background work was extremely detailed and inspiring.

Adam, sorry no publish date, this was a personal project. I can send you a copy! Literally!
