To prepare for the next version of kartooner.com I’ve been doing a few sketches to get the creative juices flowing. This sketch in particular, which I’ve entitled “School Office” just came to me last night after watching an episode of CSI where a spikey-haired blonde kid accidentally stuffed his best friend into a commercial washer.
I’m not sure how that was the basis for inspiration, but it was.

Well, I know you are currently in algebra so when I see this, I see you looking depressed knowing you are off to class :)
How close am I?
Bryan: Hah! You might be right, seeing as though cartoons (and art respectively) are an expression of emotion. Looking at it now, I can see where you might have “drawn” that conclusion.
I’ll just say, for now, to stay tooned!
This is great Eric. It’s about time to show us some of your graphic side.
I want to make lots of changes too — some time ago, I took the tough decision to quit my former job, become a freelance cowboy, and that hopefully will result in having more time to rescue a lot of long-forgotten personal projects. Like, um, web comics and stuff…
Beto: Wow, you should be commended for that. I’ve been entertaining the part-time freelance cowboy gig for awhile now and I’d much rather make it a full-time kind of deal. I’ll refrain from pointing any fingers for the fact that my current employer occasionally reads this site, but I’ll just mention (out of some sort of respect) that I’m looking for more growth.
I’ll be showing off some more sketches soon and eventually will be incorporating them into this site, as a weekly feature hopefully.
Good luck, Beto. :) I’ll send some mojo your way!
Pretty interesting place to get your inspiration. I’ll be coming back often to see your progress on your new layout. Im sure it will rock.
I think your inspiration came from the adventures with your ‘little’ brother Matt. Man, you talked him into some crazy stuff when you both were young.…
Nice drawing too!
Dad
PS… I like the Check Spelling feature with this comment program!
Kind of creepy inspiration, but I love the drawing. It’s really too bad I have absolutely no drawing/art ability, because seeing things like this makes me want to pick up a pencil and sketch, but I can’t.
I’m also in a re-design mood — I’ve been wanting to redo my site for quite sometime now. It’s hard to start. I’m not sure what colors to go with.
I’m also happy to see some cartoon work posted. This is good stuff, you should definitely post more art. Was this a scanned sketch or was it created on a tablet? Looking forward to the new design and more kartoons! :)
Likewise Brad. You’ve got some great illustrations showcased on both your personal and portfolio sites.
