I used to wait on Hal and his father at MoonLite Restaurant in Owensboro, KY when he came home to visit. I always looked forward to his visits. He is one of the sweetest, cutest, and nicest men I've ever met. Have had a crush on him for about 30 years.

Hello Hal,
I am also a Fulton native who now resides with my family here in Murray KY. WOW! What a beautiful story. Your work is greatly admired...As a side note, I am a great fan of Marilyn Monroe, just wondered if there were any interesting stories in that area? Looking forward to your movie!
Respectfully, Karen

Hello, Hal:

You might remember that you gave me the helping hand of guidance over 41 years ago. I was watching an old movie, Johnny Dangerously, and there you were.

Thanks,
Tom

Hal, you're a truely remarkable person. I'm of a distant relation to you and I have heard many wonderful stories about you. My mom, Cheryle, has showed me some of the nice cards and letters you have sent to the family over the years. You're a great role model and I appreciate your avid Christain values. I plan to take my own family to the Murray Museum to see your collections and I hope someday I will have the honor of meeting you. I'm currently in Elementary Education program with Western Kentucky University and enrolled in a Geography of Kentucky course. One of my assignments is to give a presentation of a famous Kentuckian and of course I chose you for my presentation. I look forward to sharing some of your stories and accomplishments with my fellow classmates. Once again, thank you for being such a wonderful role model!

Greg: I agree, but I don't think any rule exists that prevents me from doing so (not saying you implied that). In fact I wish more writers of blogs would do the same. There's a lot of good material that gets buried and it really doesn't matter how good your archives work.

In this case I didn't just republish it but also rewrote certain parts of it, things I felt could be expressed more clearly within the context.

I think it's a beautiful story.

That is a nice little story. Haha...you'll never be able to re-post one of these without an old timer "tingling".
