CSS Mosaic Snapshot

July 23, 2004

CSS MosaicJust noticed that this site was featured on Doug Bowman’s CSS Mosaic, a snapshot of 144 CSS web designs used in a presentation by Doug Bowman at Digital Design World, Seattle, in July 2004. The list was compiled from entries featured at the CSS Vault from the last 4 months.

I’m honored to have been featured among these great designs and thank my supporters and readers of this site, in addition to Paul Scrivens and Doug Bowman for featuring this site in their presentations.

It’s been a great year and I look forward to what the future will bring.

Congratulations Erik! I think this is a wonderful site. It’s been one of my favorite designs in the vault since I discovered it, but I also think that it deserves a special mention for the great content. Shouldn’t there be a vault for that? Keep up the good work.

P.S. Have I mentioned how cool it is that your Dad posts on here?

Thanks Greg, for your kind words and of course flattering compliments. I try to keep the content fresh and different, but at the same time refrain from being too sporadic.

It is cool that my Dad posts here and really he’s been a strong supporter of all of my projects in life. He was here before this blog was mentioned on CSSVault and other media, and he’ll still be here if for some reason my audience disappates.

I never expected to have 2 readers, let alone a handful, even if a few of them pop in from time to time. I’ve always used the analogy that my site is like a Mom and Pop store, regular and semi-regular visitors who drop in for a visit.

Yes Erik, congrats on being listed in the Vault. You’re in some great company in there. Here’s to many more years.

A well-deserved congrats! There are so many things that are excellent on your site, and your attention to detail is superb.

I think it’s cool that your dad posts here too. My mom posts at my blog occasionally, but she says really goofy stuff. She’s still new to the web. :)

I agree with Greg, the content is fantastic too, especially love your retro gaming posts. Brings back nostalgic memories, and I had to reinstall some old games off of dusty floppies.

Congratulations on the mention. I am still knocked out that you have a link to my humble blog so thanks again. Vote Kartooner for Guru :)

Again, thank you all for comments. What’s most important for sites (or blogs) is the community support of your readers, even if that means your neighbor down the street who tunes in once a week, or your co-worker who chimes in every once in a blue moon.

Also, Root, thanks for the Guru vote. I’m far from considering myself that at all, but appreciate the sentiment. Mainly because I don’t believe anyone is a guru at what they do, instead I believe with enough collaboration we can all learn from eachother and learning constantly refines our skills.
