Scary Moments in Movie History
October 29, 2003
Believe it or not ‘The Pink Elephant’ hallucination sequence in Disney’s Dumbo movie has been rated 90th in Retrocrush’s 100 Scariest Movie Moments.
Retrocrush explains that the Pink Elephant hallucination is “an unlikely scary movie candidate, many folks still can’t shake the trip out fear from the famous alcohol induced “Pink Elephants on Parade” tripout sequence from Dumbo. Not to be confused with the “Honey Overdose Heffalumps and Woozles” flashback from Winnie The Pooh, decades later.”
Get your spook on.

I’d have to say that the split pea soup scene in the Exorcist was the scariest movie moment. That alone kept me up for nights.
Which brings me to a thought, does anyone remember a TV show that aired in the 80s about werewolves? I remember that it was on TV around the same time Alf was.

I’m glad the Willy Wonka scene was included! That STILL creeps me out…

John,
I had actually forgot about that scene from Willy Wonka until I downloaded the soundbite from the web site.
Very creepy.
However, it also makes me anticipate the Tim Burton version of Willy Wonka even more.
