Accord­ing to the web site; Talklikeapirate.com, Sep­tem­ber 19^th marks the date of the Inter­na­tional Talk-Like-A-Pirate Day, so gather ye mateys (and mate-ettes?) and learn what it takes to be like old Billy Bones or Long John Sil­ver himself.

I’m not refer­ring to the pil­lag­ing, galleon bat­tles nor the smoke or fire. Rather, I think you need a good edu­ca­tion on Pirate Jar­gon so that you can impress your friends and family.

If you’re feel­ing extra adven­tur­ous instead of going out to a pet store and buy­ing a par­rot for that authen­tic look, just make one out of a toi­let paper roll. In fact, they won’t even know the dif­fer­ence because like most fam­i­lies their gid­di­ness will over­look the fact that your par­rot doesn’t talk back. Just tell them it’s a mute par­rot that you bought in Taiwan.
